Carla Abate, Director
Carla Abate, the director at the Front Range Waldorf School, is originally from upstate NY where she was raised on a farm. She moved to Colorado to pursue an education at Naropa University in Contemplative Psychology. She loved Colorado so much she decided to stay and continue her education, seeking a Master's in School Counseling. With a background in childcare and directing child care centers, she was excited to take on a position as director at the Front Range Waldorf School whose philosophy and approach was aligned with her core values. Carla's husband was a Waldorf student from preschool through 8th grade, and her inspiration to become an active participant in spreading the wisdom of Waldorf education.
Julie Driscall, Kindergarten Teacher
Julie Driscall was born and raised in Newark, Delaware. She attended the University of Delaware where she graduated in 1999 with a B.A. in Philosophy. Julie has worked with children most of her life including two children of her own who are now 5 and 7. She continued her education in 2005 when she attended Sunbridge College and completed her Masters degree in the part-time Waldorf teacher education program. She graduated in March of 2008. She is currently the Kindergarten Teacher at Front Range Waldorf School in Lakewood, Colorado and is enjoying living with her daughters in Golden.
Carly Fridlich, Preschool Teacher
Carly Fridlich grew up in Upstate New York around the nature of the hills and trees. After graduating from State University of New York at New Paltz with a Bachelors in Psychology and a Minor of Art, she decided to move to Colorado. Her love for nature and the mountains from a child is what brought her to Colorado to continue her life of exploration. Within a few months here, she began working at a Montessori preschool and found her love for teaching and children. Researching different philosophies of thought on education, she found the Waldorf and Steiner teachings. She is currently teaching the nursery class while pursuing her training in Waldorf Early Childhood Education at Sunbridge College.
